The third edition of FutureEdtech takes place at Inmarsat, London on 13-14 June. Billed as the only event in Europe that brings together institutional leaders, technologists and academia, the two-day show features an extensive seminar programme as well as showcasing the latest classroom technology and providing an opportunity for networking.
Topics up for discussion include the cloud, data security and management and AR/VR. The first day opens with a look at The Great Cloud Migration, which will consider how moving mission-critical solutions to the cloud can be an important catalyst for the success of any digital transformation initiative. This is followed by Cloud First: What is HE Doing in the Cloud where Heidi Fraser-Krauss of the University of York will discuss the outlook for cloud implementation in higher education.
Under the heading Transforming processes, teaching and outcomes with data, a number of sessions will look at how to utilise data while maintaining security, beginning with The Path From Data to Knowledge during which Iman Megahed will explain the American University in Cairo’s data to knowledge project. This will be followed by University of Birmingham’s David Deighton discussing data security, including the impact of GDPR on data management and the importance of establishing best practice to protect students. This track concludes with a panel discussion entitled We’ve got the Data, What do we do with it Now?
