With ISE 2017 set to be the biggest show yet, we highlight a few of the new features and changes to the format that will help you make the most of your time at the show.
1. New Hall Layout
If, like me, you still manage to get lost in the halls of the RAI despite being a regular visitor for many years, this news may not help: due to the continuing growth of the show, RAI Amsterdam will be introducing an additional hall and pavilion, and a new hall numbering system for ISE 2017.
The new hall, named Hall 9, can be accessed via Halls 8, 10 and 11. A new Pavilion will be erected at the Congress Square providing an additional 1,500 net square meters of exhibitor floor space. It will connect with the Exhibitor Foyer, Diamond Lounge and Auditorium. This combined area will now be known as Hall 14.
In addition, the Amtrium is now Hall 4, while the old Halls 4 and 5 are being combined to become Hall 5.
The Old Hall 9 is now Hall 11; Hall 11 becomes Hall 12 and Hall 12 becomes Hall 13. Simple.
2. Smart Building Gets its own Showfloor Theatre
Based in the new Hall 9, Smart Building becomes the latest technology are to get a dedicated theatre on the showfloor. Attendees will experience case-study presentations by Smart Building installers, manufacturers, distributors and end-users about the latest technologies and solutions that are connecting people with the buildings they work in and inhabit.
Topics up for discussion include ‘Interactivity and collaboration in the Smart Office’, ‘System integration into the IoT world’, and Solutions for LEED strategies’. All sessions are free to attend and no pre-booking is necessary.
3. InfoComm Offers CTS Prep and Application Labs
For the first time, ISE founding partner InfoComm International is making it as easy as possible for interested AV professionals to study and test for the globally recognised Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) credential during ISE. InfoComm will be offering CTS Prep and an opportunity to take one of three different CTS exams at the RAI Amsterdam but places are limited so visit infocomm.org to find out more.
Also new to ISE for 2017 are InfoComm’s Application Labs. These two-hour sessions comprise instructor-led discussions digging into hot topics including the realms of ‘dark arts’ hacking and network traffic analysis. Each lab will introduce attendees to specific applications and allow for hands-on experience, with laptops provided per learner pair. Register for sessions at https://registration.n200.com/survey/29w2ugcqa9f35.
4. Delve into the Immersive Technology Zone
Premiering at ISE 2017, this new zone offers a multi-sensory experience for visitors to the show. It will showcase virtual, augmented and mixed reality technologies. Content for the Immersive Technology Zone will be created by the Holovis media and software development teams from within the VR remit. This will include a Near Miss Simulator, a virtual training environment that delivers compelling content for those working in high-risk jobs, while a virtual ball pool will demonstrate MxR in action.
5. The Education Technology Hall
This new category to the show format is set to consolidate the Education Technology elements of ISE and strengthen the edtech offering for both buyers and exhibitors. Based in Hall 13, we’ll see the latest technologies in areas such as collaborative and blended learning and lecture capture.
Awe Creative will also be attending ISE for the first time. If you’re looking for a new media partner or just want an informal chat about a project you’re working on and think we could support you, contact Jo or Lee to find out more.
